Since the wife put this up, I'll do the same. It's our challenge for the season:

BLACK Friday weekend

We celebrated BLACK Friday by going down to Seattle and attacking the mad lines.
NOT a great deal at FOSSIL

This was the OLD NAVY Lynnwood lineup at 5:30AM. It was super long, and I was confused why there so many people. I found out later that they gave out free Samsung Pebble (not too impressive anyways)
Blurry pic, but the lineup at COACH was INSANE. 2 hour long wait to get in to save 30%

New Kids on the Block concert

Have I not blogged in a MONTH??

We had the opportunity to attend the New Kids concert a little while ago. They were still quite good, even after all these years! They almost sold out the entire stadium. They can still move. It was the most excited I've ever seen GM Place. We literally felt the building shake! Tons of 30 somethings were falling head over heels for these old guys.

Random late October 2008

I got free tickets to attend Canadian singer extraordinaire CELINE DION the other night. While not usually my music of choice, she did sing extremely well, and her power ballads were amazing. I particularly liked I'm Your Angel (the song she did with R.Kelly) . Obviously, the controversial R&B singer was not there, but she had one of her backup singers do a great job. It was the wife's favourite concert of all time. She practically knew all the lyrics of the old songs! Celine finished off the concert with My Heart Will Go On. Video to come??

The little one got her hair cut again:

I borrowed Guitar Hero Aerosmith from my friend. I didn't know that my progress from the time I rented it would still be saved. I finished the game on HARD!

More volleyball

We played some of our former team members from the past two years (currently in the 9th and 10th grades). Our team put up a fight, and lost narrowly by a few points each game. We did, however, beat the other two grade 10 teams afterwards. Tomorrow, we'll be at another two day tournament. We'll see how we do!

I'm not too sure what I was signalling here.

I think our dog enjoyed herself thisThanksgiving

Shopping (well, waiting) at Woodburn outlets with her friendamies B + S.

We all loved the Heavenly Bed's offered by Westin.

Randoms from Portland

We found out that the little one absolutely LOVES Trader Joe's apple-carrot juice! Check out her orange mouth!

Off to Portland!

So we're off to Portland this weekend! I absolutely love these little getaways to the States. They definitely give us something to look forward to. We were able to priceline the Westin in downtown Portland for a very good price. We're bringing the dog, too. We should have some good photos, since the weather is quite nice for this time of year. Unfortunately, the Canadian dollar is doing absolutely awful: 84 cents US!! This is the worst it's been in nearly three years. That just means we'll be focusing less on buying stuff and more on relaxing and photography.

Passion blog

More incredible photos from Passion Vancouver can be found here, on the official Passion Blog. If you look at this photo, you can see the top of my head on the far bottom left (wearing black)!

So I finally finished my Chris Tomlin video from the very front row (Yes, I'm his biggest fan). You can hear me screaming at the beginning, and when he comes out. Check it out:

Passion concert @ GM Place

If you have sung any praise and worship songs in the past decade, you've definitely sung a song written by Chris Tomlin. He has written popular songs such as Forever, How Great is our God, and Holy is the Lord.

David Crowder, another popular Christian artist, with more of a rock background.

The Passion movement had a concert here last night. Vancouver was stop 13 of their 17 city worldwide tour. It was truly awesome. Tickets were available for free! We were lucky enough to run and get FIRST ROW SEATS! I also rushed to the VERY FRONT of the stage area.

Check out the rest of my concert photos here.

Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin is my favourite christian artist and writer. His lyrics are simply amazing. Here are some lyrics from his newest song, Jesus Messiah:

He became sin
Who knew no sin
That we might become His Righteousness
He humbled himself and carried the cross

Watch him teach the song:

Lyrically, Tomlin is the best christian songwriter of the past 8 years or so. I've had the pleasure of seeing him SEVEN times live! (4 times in Seattle, 3 in Vancouver)

SNL debate: Tina Fey does it again.

In case you missed it, SNL had yet a third skit featuring Tina Fey as Palin.

Just some interesting things found at Value Village. I rarely "shop" there, but I was lucky enough to find almost new hockey pants for $10! I was going to buy new ones the next day for $80! Too bad I got injured in my first game. Don't know how many weeks I'm out for, but it still hurts to walk. No physical activity for at least 1 more week!

These Prada shoes were only $12!!! Too bad they were a bit big. I've ALWAYS wanted a pair of PRADAS!

Tina Fey

I`m a huge fan of Tina Fey. Most people have been saying that her Sarah Palin parody is bang on. Fey did an interview with Amy Poehler (as Katie Couric) last night on Saturday Night Live. Compare it with the real interview!

Guitar Hero tournament

So I'm signed up to do the GUITAR HERO 3 Tournament tomorrow! There are 24 people registered! I thought that there would be less, but we'll see how I do. I practiced a bit tonight. Sigh, if only I practiced my real electric guitar as much as I played this game.

Here's Weezer's My Name is Jonas with my highest streak: 378 notes!

Here's the same song with a higher %.

****Update: I just got back. There were way too many players! I beat a poor 13 year old in my first round, but the 2nd round doesn't start for another 2 hours! I'm a bit too busy for that. Lots of good players though! (Forgot my camera!)

Terry Fox Run

We had our Terry Fox run in the afternoon today. The whole school participated, except for one misbehaving boy in the wife's class. I did OK. I was beat by two of my students...we ran laps around the school and the field. Time to get in shape again! Maybe the Nike + Ipod feature on the new ipods will help... :)

The popsicle sticks indicate how many laps we had completed.

1st volleyball game

We often have fun drawing contests in French class. Here are three artists that are attempting to draw "un gâteau":

Here is the finished result. My quick drawing is the large one in the middle:

We had our first volleyball game of the season this year (I coach the girls grade 8 team at school). Our team consists of mostly gr 7 students though. We played the grade 10 and grade 8 teams from "my" rival school today. I've had quite a history coaching against this school. Today, their grade 8 team bench players would shout out "Garbage!" at the top of their lungs while we served the ball. The coach claimed he couldn't hear them after I complained. They stopped. We romped them. (We almost beat the 10th graders, too!)
