Random late October 2008

I got free tickets to attend Canadian singer extraordinaire CELINE DION the other night. While not usually my music of choice, she did sing extremely well, and her power ballads were amazing. I particularly liked I'm Your Angel (the song she did with R.Kelly) . Obviously, the controversial R&B singer was not there, but she had one of her backup singers do a great job. It was the wife's favourite concert of all time. She practically knew all the lyrics of the old songs! Celine finished off the concert with My Heart Will Go On. Video to come??

The little one got her hair cut again:

I borrowed Guitar Hero Aerosmith from my friend. I didn't know that my progress from the time I rented it would still be saved. I finished the game on HARD!

More volleyball

We played some of our former team members from the past two years (currently in the 9th and 10th grades). Our team put up a fight, and lost narrowly by a few points each game. We did, however, beat the other two grade 10 teams afterwards. Tomorrow, we'll be at another two day tournament. We'll see how we do!

I'm not too sure what I was signalling here.

Off to Portland!

So we're off to Portland this weekend! I absolutely love these little getaways to the States. They definitely give us something to look forward to. We were able to priceline the Westin in downtown Portland for a very good price. We're bringing the dog, too. We should have some good photos, since the weather is quite nice for this time of year. Unfortunately, the Canadian dollar is doing absolutely awful: 84 cents US!! This is the worst it's been in nearly three years. That just means we'll be focusing less on buying stuff and more on relaxing and photography.

Passion blog

More incredible photos from Passion Vancouver can be found here, on the official Passion Blog. If you look at this photo, you can see the top of my head on the far bottom left (wearing black)!

So I finally finished my Chris Tomlin video from the very front row (Yes, I'm his biggest fan). You can hear me screaming at the beginning, and when he comes out. Check it out:

Passion concert @ GM Place

If you have sung any praise and worship songs in the past decade, you've definitely sung a song written by Chris Tomlin. He has written popular songs such as Forever, How Great is our God, and Holy is the Lord.

David Crowder, another popular Christian artist, with more of a rock background.

The Passion movement had a concert here last night. Vancouver was stop 13 of their 17 city worldwide tour. It was truly awesome. Tickets were available for free! We were lucky enough to run and get FIRST ROW SEATS! I also rushed to the VERY FRONT of the stage area.

Check out the rest of my concert photos here.

Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin is my favourite christian artist and writer. His lyrics are simply amazing. Here are some lyrics from his newest song, Jesus Messiah:

He became sin
Who knew no sin
That we might become His Righteousness
He humbled himself and carried the cross

Watch him teach the song:

Lyrically, Tomlin is the best christian songwriter of the past 8 years or so. I've had the pleasure of seeing him SEVEN times live! (4 times in Seattle, 3 in Vancouver)

SNL debate: Tina Fey does it again.

In case you missed it, SNL had yet a third skit featuring Tina Fey as Palin.

Just some interesting things found at Value Village. I rarely "shop" there, but I was lucky enough to find almost new hockey pants for $10! I was going to buy new ones the next day for $80! Too bad I got injured in my first game. Don't know how many weeks I'm out for, but it still hurts to walk. No physical activity for at least 1 more week!

These Prada shoes were only $12!!! Too bad they were a bit big. I've ALWAYS wanted a pair of PRADAS!
