First place we visited was the Mandarin Hotel, which had this spectacular view on the 37th floor, in an unusual setting:
We went for lunch at a restaurant specializing in Japanese curry. Was it ever spicy! I was sweating the whole time. I must have downed over a litre of water.
Next, a drink at Illy's Espressamante Café.
Thanks a lot, Ernest and Namie! You guys made our last day in Tokyo a very memorable one. Hope to see you again in the near future!
Thus began our incredible food tour. I will post more pictures soon. There are just way too many! Tokyo definitely rivals Paris in their pastries. I was simply amazed at the presentation and quality. Even more photos can be found here:
Here is the famous square watermelon, selling for around $210 each.
Went to visit the Godzilla statue, looking menacing:
After some more guided shopping, we met up with Ernest's wife, Namie, and went for dinner at a Japanese Shabu-shabu (aka hotpot). The beef and pork were some of the most delicious meat I've ever tasted.
Notice the salary man who had a bit too much to drink. He was asleep for probably a full hour. Here is the famous square watermelon, selling for around $210 each.

We capped off our evening by going up another skyscraper, the Shiodome building, with many restaurants boasting incredible views.
Travel day tomorrow. I'm not sure when I can post next, since the next hotel does not have wi-fi in the rooms. See you from Thailand!
